Wedding at Signal Brewery Postponed because of Covid-19

2020 was A YEAR for everyone, but for our wedding couples especially. March was filled with Facetime meetings discussing how to proceed, when to make decisions, exploring options for changes to the original wedding plans. It was hard and it felt awfully heavy. Once those decisions were made final we were all able to breathe and embrace the new reality. Emily and Cody chose to postpone their wedding at Signal Brewery in Corbyville until later in the year but still wanted to honour their original wedding date in early August with a romantic engagement shoot with their golden doodle Wally.

Honouring Original Wedding date with Engagement Shoot

We met Cody and Emily at Emily’s parents’ property and were blessed with the most stunning evening sky. Emily and Cody are so dang in love and treated the whole engagement shoot as a celebration and a perfect slice of time to spend with each other (and Wally, their gigantic golden doodle puppy).

They chose two outfits (one dressier, one more casual) and the whole session had a romantic and playful feeling to it. Emily went for her wedding make-up trial before the session and looked absolutely stunning (and was able to test out how it felt/ how it photographed before the wedding day). Her make-up artist was Megan Brown. Wally ran free and hopped in and out of shots at will, he definitely thought he was the star of the show! if you’re wondering about bringing your friendly pup to the session, the answer is always 100% YES!

Incorporating wedding details in the Engagement Shoot

Patrick and I went to Signal Brewery in the afternoon to pick up a few of their current offerings to bring to session. Luckily we picked well and they happened to be Emily and Cody’s favourites! They toasted to each other, to their commitment, to the beautiful evening and then strolled over to where Cody proposed.

Choosing the perfect Engagement Session Location

Emily and Cody knew that this property was their ideal location for their engagement session. This space holds so many memories for them, including Cody’s marriage proposal. If you’re local and have a meaningful location for your shoot we will always recommend going with that. If you’re just visiting the Prince Edward County area there are plenty of locations we can recommend that have the perfect mix of light, sweeping vistas, and cozy nooks to explore.

How to Preserve your Engagement Session Memories

Once the online gallery was delivered, Cody and Emily picked their favourite 20 images and Patrick crafted their album to tell the story of this beautiful evening. They were able to display their album during their wedding and now they share their memories with their family and friends any time they come to visit. The heirloom album is a piece of art that sits proudly on their coffee table and brings a smile and warm memory each time they open it.
