A Family Session at Trillium Park to remember their time in Toronto

Ash contacted us about a family photography session because her little family had decided to move from the city of Toronto (where she’d spent the last 15 or so years living) to the suburbs and she wanted to mark their time here (and to have some beautiful images for a gallery wall in their new place!). She had Trillium Park in mind as a location as it was a path they often walked together and had great views of the CN Tower. We opted for a sunrise family session at Trillium Park to minimize the number of other people around and we hoped for good weather.

After some family photos with their sweet babe and golden doodle Marvin I had this lovely mom and dad take some time for each other with a couple’s session. Patrick spent some time with their baby and dog while I captured a bit of their love story. They had time to slow down, focus exclusively on each other and even close their eyes for a moment (we all laughed as Ash shared that this was so peaceful she might just fall asleep standing up). We absolutely love doing these mini couple’s sessions within the family session! Toronto as a city has been such a huge part of this little family’s life and they wanted to honour their time here. We incorporated the CN Tower views and the skyline into many of their images and were early enough (and blessed with a stunning sunrise) to capture both quiet images of just their family as well as capturing the life that is typical of a Friday morning at sunrise along this trail.

This is our current favourite view of the Toronto skyline. Finding a space where you are able to wander along the waterfront trail, bbq (with a permit) and have space for kids and dogs to run around freely is absolute magic in this city. We cannot wait to come here again.
